battersea power station

dots
battersea power station - a remarkable and quite beautiful building - and lets hope it will soon become host to remarkable events and the arts. The fact it's been passed around numerous different owners doesn't bode well. It's clearly a massive job to clean-up the grounds, invest in transport links and fund the actual construction - but what a place it will be if it ever happens.

Helen, we love you.

Helen, we love you. - And your ever so tasty shawarmas. This was Bonker's first ever visit
to the venerable Edgware Road establishment, I don't think it will be
his last !

beetle's about.

beetle's about. - Found floating in a fresh cup of PowWow water. What caused the little beasty to be there is as yet unknown.

attracting attention

dots
attracting attention - If you want to have a smooch in the park, then...well my advice is to just get on with it. Don't attract attention to yourself by attempting to cover up the deviant act with a blue, yak stained anorak over the head.

that's what was missing!!

dots
that's what was missing!! - Look - that's the sign that was missing when I got my parking ticket. Had there been a "this is a parking space, but only us lot can park here" notice displayed prominently I could have avoided a ticket!

wandsworth smoke stacks

dots
wandsworth smoke stacks - A brewery lies at the base of this stack, which was snapped early doors before I headed into work.

original? Anti-brand?

dots
original? Anti-brand? - AbuzeLondon claim to be the 'original antibrand clothing company in London'. Of course they probably are neither original, nor an anti-brand; instead they are vandals, seizing on the trend for stickering and littering my neighbourhood with said stickers.

I wonder actually if it's even possible to have an 'anti-brand' in the truest sense of the phrase. If such a thing stand as a totem of everything a brand isn't or shouldn't be, once you start reaching out for some mass market appeal, the brand is surely brought back in line with its traditional image/money loving brethren. The only true anti-brand is the one you yourself create.

Notwithstanding all that, if you are to create a brand and sell it like AbuzeLondon, at least buy yourself a hip logo!

a diplomat's bay !?

dots
a diplomat's bay !? - You know, there are things in life where you just say to yourself "fair cop". I park on a single yellow line out of free hours, and I can expect a ticket. I beach on a double yellow, or a red line - and yes, I expect to be towed. I block a pavement, position my car dangerously or don't pay and display - show me the parking ticket. But getting fined for parking in an official spot, but that happens to be reserved for diplomats is a joke. Someone is yanking my plonker, because there was not a single notice anywhere to indicate the tax dodging, congestion charge evading diplomats are the only people allowed to park.

Stick it up yer bum Westminster Council - this one is going to appeal.
