you & me

dots
you & me - A makeshift sign composed of aging plastic bags. I like to imagine this community of artistic vagrants assembling it at dead of night.

man rides in the back

dots
man rides in the back - Look carefully at that van in the centre of the picture (and not my pots of olives). My navigator and I suddenly noticed these eyes peering at us.

junked the Sad Robot

dots
junked the Sad Robot - Some evildoer has come along and junked the sad robot. Only the rough edges of his heart live on.

900 trapped for 2 hours

dots
900 trapped for 2 hours - And all because someone decided to jump in front of a tube train. You feel for the person on the tracks of course, it's quite upsetting, but what about those poor, innocent saps in the tube - desperate for a slash or dying for a drink, or even badly claustrophobic. Quite selfish.

howto: Cross the road.

dots
howto: Cross the road. - I'm not sure why I was surprised to see a sign telling me how to cross the road. I snapped it anyway, but I thought the iconography and colours of the 'crossing man', as well as the observed masses, would pretty much give the game away as to how one might traverse a busy road. It wasn't even in a densely populated tourist area.

poker night

dots
poker night - I lost all my chips to The Wu and Henraldo (left). Forrester and Hamps, the self-proclaimed Queens of the Poker table both took an early bath as beginners luck took possession of their whole stack of chips.

skimming stones over the sloppy sands of Brighton

dots
skimming stones over the sloppy sands of Brighton - We played a game of skimming. You're probably familiar with the whole 'concept'. But here the sea was at its tidal nadir, so rather than get our feet wet on the glass slurry, we instead flapped our skimmers over the sloppy sands.

pebble head

dots
pebble head - No idea just what inspired the subject matter in this photo, but there's something about the seas and sands (or pebbles as it may be) that emits a particular halyconian feeling.

stenciling Brighton

dots
stenciling Brighton - Here's another of the Brighton graffiti stencils, found near Church Street. She hadn't been left lonesome in the doorway, there were a few others around her, but none quite as good. Brighton seems to have a really great scene - I spotted so much awesome work. I like the way someone has come in and done some additional stitching-like work on her pini.

tagging Brighton

dots
tagging Brighton - I spotted this cool tag near the sea front in Brighton on Friday. It reminded me of a Hindi or Bengali character - and really stood out from the other, shall we say less interesting/lazy scrawls by its side.

creepy advertising

dots
creepy advertising - As i sat on the tube, this pestilent eye gazed right at me. I couldn't look away despite the afflicted lady looking off-colour and generally having more than just a diseased eye. I almost said the poster has done its job, but then I wasn't exactly banging down the doors of opticians this morning.

frig off and die elsewhere

dots
frig off and die elsewhere - This post wasn't really about the quite magnificant industrial scene you see depicted above, which despite my seething anger I managed to capture. No, it was expressing anger at those 'people under trains' announcements that you hear on the platform. But on reflection was a little harsh (A number of things had gone horribly wrong so far that morning), so I've decided to edit it somewhat.

suffering the same fate

dots
suffering the same fate - Why in the name of everything holy do my freakin shirts all suffer the same fate? Everytime I come to iron a freshly washed, freshly bought shirt i find these little yellow-greenish ink like stains blotting my garment. Where the fuck do they come from!? I've written-off so many items because of this mystery ink and despite no end of Googling, the culprit still evades me.
